FISHING, GOLF, WE HAVE IT ALL. The Gosper County Fair is held in Elwood
every year generally at the end of July. The town owns its own carnival and
volunteers from town work to host the fair and run the rides, games and
concession stand. People come from miles around to attend this yearly event.
Tickets currently cost $1.50 and other than food items each ride or game is
only one ticket. In addition to the carnival activities,
the Elwood Rodeo is held on Thursday and Friday night and a free concert
takes place on Saturday night. The American Legion hosts a food stand all day
in their building, which also houses the 4H exhibits and open class exhibits
such as photography, baked goods, and flower arrangements. The 4H holds their
annual animal judging and exhibitions. There is a parade every other year , a golf tournament on Wednesday and an annual
horseshoe tournament takes place on Saturday. The fair is located on the southwest side
of town near the water tower. Come join us for some old fashioned fun. ELWOOD CITY PARK The park contains the swimming pool,
playground equipment, picnic shelter and tables, and a nine hole disk golf course. Constructed in 2012, the library has a variety of books and dvds

the late 1970s and is utilized by Central Nebraska Irrigation & Public
Power District (CNPPID) for regulation of irrigation water. This reservoir is
located approximately five miles south of Johnson Reservoir. A public access
Wildlife Management Area (WMA) is located along the east shoreline and
provides a concrete boat ramp, dock, nighttime lighting, parking and an
outhouse. Most of the abundant coves and fingers of this reservoir are
remote, steep and heavily vegetated making them accessible only by boat.
